Annual Salary: Currently £6,562 per annum, this increases to £7,340 per annum from 1st April 2022
Working week: Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 16:00, 30-minute lunch break (term time only + 3 Inset days)
Total hours per week: 35

 

North Lakes School has an exciting opportunity to appoint an Apprentice Administrator to join our dedicated team.   We are looking for a vibrant, talented and organised individual to support the School Business Manager with day to day administration in the busy school office. 

 

The successful candidate will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship delivered by RWP Training Ltd.  Off-the–job training will be delivered by RWP Training Ltd once a fortnight at their premises in Carlisle, and the successful candidate will need to be able to attend all of the required sessions.

 

The role is initially offered on an 18-month contract with the intention to make this permanent subject to the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme. 

 

Full training will be provided but you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the responsibilities of the role which include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering the office telephone
  • Dealing with visitors, families and pupils
  • Photocopying, laminating and scanning documents
  • Preparing emails and texts to families
  • Filing
  • Providing other general administration assistance to all school staff including the school leadership team
  • Additional tasks required at Level 3 may include: producing documents, preparing notes, organising and co-ordinating events and meetings, setting up and maintaining filing systems, using a variety of software packages, updating information and overseeing small projects.

Essential qualifications: Minimum GCSE Grade C (4) in English and Maths.

 

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in school administrative services.  They will be able to work well as part of a team, as well as working independently, and provide excellent customer service. We expect applicants to demonstrate a “can do” attitude and have good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills on which to build their administrative work.

 

North Lakes School is a successful Community Junior School, on the west side of Penrith in the Wetheriggs estate. Established almost 50 years ago, the school has long enjoyed a reputation as a creative and inclusive school. The school serves a large catchment area and a socially diverse community on the west and of the town.

 

In 2021-22 the school is organised into 7 mainstream classes and also operates a Resourced Provision for children with complex or profound Special Educational Needs.

 

North Lakes School was inspected in September 2018 and recognised by Ofsted as a good school with many strengths.  The school works very closely with its parents, community and its feeder infant school, Brunswick Infants in Penrith.

 

The children enjoy extensive playing fields with a trim trail, a MUGA pitch, an adventure trail, a wildlife area and large playgrounds, both at the front and back of the school. The school building is situated on a large site in pleasant surroundings, with views out of town of the Lakeland fells.
