We currently have six classes in North Lakes including two year 6 classes, two year 5 classes, a year four class and a year three class. We also have Grasmere class, which is our Resource Provision.  

Most children starting at North Lakes School in the autumn term join from Brunswick Infant School, with whom we have very close links. Staff meet together throughout the year to ensure continuity and a smooth transition between our schools. The children from Brunswick will be provided with a number of opportunities to visit North Lakes. Children are also very welcome to join North Lakes from other schools, and their induction will be supported carefully.

Children leaving North Lakes School usually transfer to either Ullswater Community College and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. Close links are maintained with both secondary schools.

There is a full exchange of information which provides a basis for a smooth transfer from junior to secondary school. Visits to prospective schools are arranged during the Summer Term preceding the transfer, and staff from both schools visit to meet the children.
