Y6 - Hope Education Writing Competition (Spring 2015)
Onto a shorter story for our next task and this time we only had 200 words to grip readers with a humorous tale. It was quite a challenge trying to condense the essential ingredients for a top story into 200 words but with tips from children’s author Emma Barnes we were able to come up with a range of tales, some sticking with the Rainforest theme and others venturing along the lines of my worst moment ever, my naughty little sister or a wired and unusual pet who tried to save the world. With top prizes of a stack of books and cinema tickets for the whole family and prizes for your school, our young writers once again produced some excellent efforts.
The 12 NLS finalists who have been submitted to the Hope judges are Anya, Abby H, Abbie W, Layla, Abbie B, Hannah, Tia, Ronal, Bradley S, Georgia, Emily and Harrison. Once again we are awaiting the results which will be announced over the Easter holidays.
