Walking in Sunshine - Sponsored Walk (Oct 2015)
On a blistering hot day at the start of October, the children of North Lakes School set off to Wetheriggs Park for a Sponsored Walk.
Thanks to the fantastic efforts of children and parents we were able to raise an excellent £1,136 which will be spent on supporting the cost of school visits and extra learning experiences for the children this year.
Some children managed to complete seven laps of the park within the hour- an estimated distance of over 4.5 kilometres. Congratulations to our top fund raisers and prize winners who were Maddie B with £65, and Alfie with £55 – THANK YOU!
Thank you to all the parents who came to help us to marshal the event and to count off all those laps. We are also grateful to PCSOs Natalie Latham and John Nicholson for their help in ensuring the children’s safety, so that we could enjoy a fun and very rewarding event.
