The first week of term got off to an inspiring start with the Tour of Britain cycle event racing through Penrith.
Throughout the week children learned about how the race is organised and we tracked the progress of the top riders in daily assemblies. Many children designed their own team colours, and a colourful display was provided at the front of school by Years 5 and 6.
Thinking about our own learning in school, we reflected on the resilience, skills and hours of practice needed to be a top athlete and a successful learner.
On the big day the entire school walked down to join the Penrith crowds and watch the event with flags waving and samba drums beating an exciting rhythm. This was a memorable day providing great memories – many thanks to BlueJam and many parents for their support!
