There is no stopping NLS when it comes to Sumdog! We have done it again! We have won the Cumbria Sumdog Maths Contest for the 5th time in a row! Elterwater Maths Group catapulted into 1st place, winning the competition for the third time with 652 points (their new personal best!). Rydal Water Maths group took 3rd place again with 316 points, Buttermere Maths Group were 9th (156pts), Ullswater Maths Group 11th (131pts), Coniston Maths Group 17th (74pts) and Windermere Maths Group 18th (65pts) in Cumbria!

It is a fantastic achievement to have all of our classes in the Cumbrian Top 20! Daily winners in the contest included Elterwater and Rydal. The congratulations don’t stop there, as North Lakes also had 27 Y5&6’s and 2 Y3&4’s in the top 50 students in Cumbria!

Each competitor could answer a maximum of 1000 questions each. Ollie G (Y6) was 1st in Cumbria, with a tremendous 957 correct, Reon (Y6) 2nd with 943 correct and Ben M (Y5) was 7th with 884 correct.  Congratulations must also go to Millie and Katie G who were the top scorers in Y3&4.  Well done to you all!

We are so proud of everyone who has taken part in this competition – each participant received a special Myths and Legends Sumdog outfit for their avatar, and as the winners, Elterwater have won another free 30 pupil subscription for the school!

Children really need to visit Sumdog on a regular basis as it helps to develop and revise their basic Maths and Literacy Skills - it is proven to sharpen our skills and it is great fun. Play games against class mates, other schools and even the world! It is available to all pupils all summer too!
