This term Year 5/6 decided to visit St Andrews to learn about weddings. We wanted to learn about the ceremony, what needed to be done before a wedding happens, all about speeches and the costs of a wedding. We had lots of time to discuss our questions with Reverend Rachel, she told us that there only needs to be five people at a wedding, the bride, the groom, two witnesses and a vicar. She told us about her job before a wedding and during a ceremony.
Then it was our turn. We acted out a real wedding, we had a bride and a groom, bridesmaids, grooms parents, brides parents, a photographer and a best man. The best man had to make a speech at the end and we all toasted the bride and groom! We learned a lot on our visit.
