National Sing Up Day 2014

As a Platinum Singing School, Sing Up Day is always special at North Lakes School. The Sing Up Platinum flag flew proudly yet again on Friday 14th March as North Lakes donned their Sing Up Hats, T-Shirts and Badges to ‘Spread a Little Singing’ for National Sing Up Day.

Our Sing Up ambassadors ensured that every lesson started with a song and, during our special Sing Up warm up, each team, Blencathra, Great Gable, Red Pike and Helvellyn ensured that 'There ain't no mountain high enough' when it comes to singing at North Lakes! Singing then spilled out into the corridors, playground and to the school field. What great ambassadors!

Our day concluded with a Special NSUD Celebratory performance for parents, family and friends, who in true Sing Up tradition joined in - there were some superb actions from our audience in 'Grandma Rap!'. After an energetic warm up with the audience, the whole school sang “I’m A Believer”, the Sport Relief anthem “Step It Up” and, new for Sing Up Day 2014, “The Big Song”.

"I loved it when the adults joined in with our actions, with a little help from the older singing leaders! It was great to see them singing and dancing too! Phenomenal!" (Mia -Louise Y6)

Mr Pincombe presented badges to the school’s new Singing Leaders, who will play an important part in helping others and sharing their talents over the coming year. We congratulate Maddy, Kofi, Alice, Ella, Shannon, Josh K, Jordon S, Chloe D, Lauren C, Leah LW, Rachel H, Tia E, Lainey and Ollie.
on their new responsibilities. Well done to all of the children; thanks to Mr Soulsby and staff for their support and thanks to all parents and family who came along and made this a really special occasion!

"I was delighted to be made a singing leader. it is fun and you have lots of tasks to do in singing, as well as helping to lead your team with harmonies and rhythms" (Rachel Y5)

There are 6 more singing leader badges up for grabs after Easter as we prepare for the Big Sing!
