Lady Taverners Fun Day (Autumn 2015)

On Saturday 19th September the North Lakes School mini bus, full of excited children, made its way down the M6 towards Blackpool. Once again we had been invited by the Lady Taverners to participate in their fun day. We were greeted enthusiastically at the Pleasure Beach and Lady Taverners who gave each of us sticks of rock and a wrist band so we did not have to queue for the rides.

A lunch of fish, chips, peas and ice cream started our fun filled day. We were entertained by singers and dancers during our meal. We took turns to choose rides - some of them were very fast.  Some of us enjoyed the more sedentary rides and others enjoyed the faster rides. Kieran and Matthew went on a new RAF aeroplane ride. They enjoyed every minute!

The staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Four hours flew by and we were all reluctant to leave the pleasure beach. We had such a great time and arrived back in Penrith for about 7pm.

A massive thankyou to the Lady Taverners who also helped provide our mini bus. The school uses the mini bus extensively for all of our pupils. It has the added feature of a rear lift and harnesses which allows us to transport our disabled pupils. Thanks to Miss Rollings and all our helpers on the day: Mrs Olejnik, Mrs Collins, Miss Bradley and Mrs Smedley.
