Now North Lakes are looking for the best 2013 book!
Winner of the 2012 Kate Greenaway Children's Book Awards! "'Stories are wild creatures', the monster said. 'When you let them loose, who knows what havoc they might wreak?'"
Y5/6 at North Lakes has been asked to participate with the Kate Greenaway book and illustrators award with Deb Holden from Penrith Library. We look forward to sharing the nominated books with Y3/4 and getting their opinions on the books and illustrations. It is a very difficult job as the books are always fantastic.
The winner was quite a surprise for us last year as it wasn't a favourite of our Y6 at North Lakes 2012! Exciting times are ahead... who will win this year?
Jade Y6 - “I love reading with my reading buddies, and helping them with their reading strategies, I know practice makes for better readers. I will enjoy sharing these books with them.”
Kennadie Y6 - “I like reading with different people, I enjoy it when my buddy and I discuss the books. I love writing a positive comment in the reading log.”
Molly Y6 - “Reading with my buddies is fun. I love it when the younger children enjoy their books as much as Y5/6.”
