Year 6 Maths Workshops
During this term, Year 6 mathematicians attended a maths workshop at UCC. We were taught by Maths teachers from UCC and QEGS, completing many challenges, problems solving, algebra, working in teams and independently.
We worked alongside Year 6's from many other school in Eden and were given a chance to apply the maths skills we had learnt in the classroom.
Alice - Year 6
Y3 Science Workshop
This term, a group of budding scientists worked at the Play Station with Dr Mark, a mad scientist with lots of scientific tricks and experiments to baffle us. I really liked it when he made a diver from a pen lid, put it inside a plastic bottle filled with water, as he said down, the lid sank, when he said up, it rose to the top of the bottle.
We had to try and use our scientific knowledge to work out how he did it. We also tried many of Dr Mark's investigations making sure we watched carefully to try and work out the science behind our findings. We all had a lot of fun in our sessions and can't wait to show our class mates some of the tricks we learnt.
