Christmas Service (Dec 2018)

North Lakes presented their Christmas thoughts and reflections at St Andrew’s on Wednesday 19th December.

Reverend Mandy shared the Christmas Posada and the journey of Mary and Joseph as they made their way to Bethlehem. Our own Joseph and Mary puppets had stayed in several homes with the children of North Lakes School in recent days.

The children proudly presented poetry, instructions for celebrating a wonderful Christmas, a re-enactment of the Christmas Truce during WW1 and a cameo reminding us of Refugees displaced from their own countries, separated from families and loved ones.  “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” was sung and signed in Makaton.

The reflections were interwoven with Christmas hymns and carols, practised and beautifully sung.  “This Christmas Time” was visualised by Ullswater Class who created movement to the thought provoking words.  The children also sang  “Silent Night” to remember that Christmas in the trenches in 1914 when soldiers on opposing sides wished for everlasting peace.

Thank you to all of those who attended and joined our celebration.   Our retiring collection for Cash for Kids raised an amazing £230 which will help  many families and children throughout our locality.  North Lakes School wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Christmas!
